Be Well Week - Shop Savvy 7 September 2016

Ladies, this is the week to prioritise your health.
Gents,  this is the time for you to make a promise with the important females in your life.
--- daughter, mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, girlfriend ---

September 5-11 is Be Well Week.
A week to raise awareness of bowel cancer in women.

"Bowel cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women - claiming the lives of close to 1,900 wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, nieces and girlfriends in Australia every year"

You can reduce the incidence of bowel cancer by up to 75% by following a healthful diet and exercise. That's a HUGE reduction!

So what can you do diet-wise?
Up your fibre intake.
That means to;
  • Try whole-meal and whole-grain breads, pasta, and rice.
  • Enjoy a variety of fruits and veggies, and eat the skins too where ever possible.
  • Enjoy nuts and legumes; both food groups contain a combination of different fibre subtypes , making them a super star in maintaining bowel health.
From the vegetable aisle, on special this week;
Woolworths has Zucchini ($2.50/kg), Broccolini (2 for $4), and Pumpkin ($1.30/kg).
Coles has Mini vine capsicums ($2.50 a 175g pack), Mushrooms ($5 a 500g pack), and Kale ($3 each).

Here are some delicious recipes for some inspiration :)
